Exciting news unfolds as Mahibere Hiwot for Social Development (MSD) and UNICEF Ethiopia join forces in signing a groundbreaking Program Cooperation Agreement (PCA) spanning from 2025 to 2030. This visionary collaboration is poised to elevate humanitarian and development responses throughout Ethiopia, with a special emphasis on supporting vulnerable and displaced communities.
Under this transformative agreement, a second joint project was officially launched in August 2025, targeting internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Debre Birhan, situated in the Amhara Region. The project is strategically designed to focus on two pivotal programmatic pillars: Child Protection and Education.
Building upon the success of the inaugural joint project, which impacted four project sites in North Gojjam and Awi Zones, the initial intervention prioritized delivering essential child protection services to communities affected by conflict. The resounding success of this endeavor serves as a testament to the impactful collaboration between MSD and UNICEF in serving those in need.
MSD remains unwavering in its dedication to championing the rights and well-being of children and families across Ethiopia. Through evidence-based, community-centric initiatives, in harmonious partnership with esteemed stakeholders like UNICEF, we are committed to creating a brighter future for all.
