MSD Celebrates the 35th Day of the African Child Across Four Towns

June 9 – 12 , 2025

Bahir Dar, Merawi, Enjibara, and Chagni

Mahibere Hiwot for Social Development (MSD) collaborated with essential partners to mark the 35th Day of the African Child (DAC) under the theme of safeguarding and empowering children, particularly in vulnerable environments.

Numerous events took place in Bahir Dar, Merawi, Enjibara, and Chagni, involving over 970 children and key stakeholders. In conjunction with Zonal and Woreda Women, Children & Social Affairs offices, as well as other local entities, we shed light on crucial issues such as Gender-Based Violence (GBV), explosive remnants of war, and the importance of access to education, healthcare, and psychosocial support.

MSD was privileged to receive a certificate of recognition for its exceptional contributions to child protection and humanitarian assistance. Our heartfelt appreciation goes out to our esteemed donor, UNICEF-FCDO, and to all dedicated staff members and partners whose collective efforts made this endeavor a reality.

Moving forward, MSD remains steadfast in its commitment to a future where every child and youth not only survives but thrives, even in the face of adversity.
