A consultative meeting under the UNFPA-funded project “Uplifting Voices: Advancing the Dignity and Empowerment of Women and Girls in Ethiopia” was successfully held on October 29, 2025, at Lake Avenue Hotel, Bahir Dar City.
The event brought together 40 participants representing signatory local government sectors, key stakeholder institutions, and partner organizations.
The meeting was officially opened by Ato Awoke, Deputy Head of the ANRS Labor and Skill Development Bureau, and concluded by W/ro Zina Getachew, Deputy Head of the ANRS Women, Children, and Social Affairs Bureau.
During the session, Ato Tilaye Gizachew, Executive Director of Mahibere Hiwot for Social Development (MSD), presented the organizational profile and shared insights on MSD’s strategic direction. Getalem Aychew, Project Coordinator, delivered a detailed progress update on the project’s achievements to date.
The consultative meeting served as a valuable platform for strengthening collaboration and reaffirming collective commitment to advancing gender equality and empowering women and girls across Ethiopia.
