The Office of Women, Children, and Social Affairs of Ziquala District, in collaboration with Mahiberehiwot for Social Development (MSD), Save the Children, and Plan International, proudly celebrated the 35th International Children’s Day for the 19th time at the national level. This year’s theme was “Listen to the Future and Children’s Hope, Dream, and Vision.”
The event began with an inspiring opening speech and congratulatory message from Ms. Tiberh, the head of the Women, Children, and Social Affairs Office of Waghimra Administrative Zone. Following her remarks, representatives from MSD and other humanitarian organizations shared their perspectives and contributions towards children’s welfare.
The celebration saw participation from a diverse range of sectors, including justice, education, police, and other key stakeholders from all 15 Kebeles. Each sector presented valuable insights, with the justice sector highlighting various international and national provisions for children’s rights. Additionally, crucial messages concerning birth registration and marriage were shared by representatives from Ziquala Woreda.
The event concluded on a high note with the distribution of certificates of appreciation to MSD, Plan International, and Save the Children, recognizing their significant contributions and dedication to improving the lives of children.
This celebration not only reinforced the importance of children’s rights but also encouraged all attendees to continue supporting and nurturing the dreams and visions of the future generation.
