Mahibere Hiwot for Social Development (MSD) Holds FY 2024 Annual Performance Review Meeting for USAID-Supported Health Projects

Mahibere Hiwot for Social Development (MSD) convened its Fiscal Year 2024 Annual Performance Review meeting to evaluate five USAID-supported health-related projects in the Amhara and Tigray regions, as well as the Addis Ababa City Administration. The projects under review included:

  • USAID Family Focused HIV Prevention and Care and Treatment Activities in the Amhara Region
  • USAID Family Focused HIV Prevention and Care and Treatment Activities in Addis Ababa
  • USAID Caring for Vulnerable Children (CVC) in Tigray
  • USAID HIV Testing, Prevention, and Care and Treatment Activities in the Amhara Region
  • USAID Health Behavioral Activities

The meeting was held at the Inter Luxury Hotel in Addis Ababa.

The event began with an opening address by Ato Tilaye Gizachew, the Founder and Executive Director of MSD, who set the tone for a comprehensive review of the organization’s initiatives. Ato Fasikaw Molla, the Deputy Director of the Authority for Civil Society Organizations, officially inaugurated the workshop. Ato Fikadu Yadete, the CEO responsible for HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control at the Ministry of Health, delivered the keynote address, emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts in tackling health challenges in the regions.

Key stakeholders from the three regions attended the meeting, engaging in a dynamic exchange of insights and experiences. Ato Tilaye Gizachew presented an overview of MSD’s organizational profile, followed by detailed presentations from project managers highlighting the progress and achievements of each of the five projects. A gallery walk further showcased the successes of these initiatives, offering a visual representation of the impact made over the past year.

The event concluded with a productive discussion led by a representative from the Regional Health Bureau, with active participation from attendees. In his closing remarks, Ato Tilaye Gizachew outlined the organization’s way forward, reaffirming MSD’s commitment to advancing health and development in partnership with stakeholders.
